Update on Dakota - April 2008
Dakota continues to do well on her varied medications but is still monitored very closely. As part of her continued assessment her pulse rate was taken before, during and after a woodland walk and it was found to be well within the normal ranges at all times. She certainly still very much enjoys them. The breeding season has helped her lose some weight so it is back to normal. Her abdomen is still slightly distended due to the on-going steroid treatment. Her lymph nodes continue to remain the same size if not smaller.
In May it will be a year after diagnosis and although she has given us a few scares over the last year she appears to be stable. Without an invasive biopsy it is impossible to say if she does in fact have cancer or not but as she is doing so well on her treatment it continues to seem unnecessary to put her under stress just so that we can get a positive diagnosis.
